As America celebrates its 250th birthday, the City of Boise and the Boise Public Library are joining in, inviting everyone to read, explore, and discover together. From thoughtfully curated reading lists and story times, to interactive scavenger hunts, special bookmarks, book displays, and other activities, we’re marking this milestone with something for all ages.

The week of June 29th, leading up to the 4th of July, each Boise Public Library location will feature stories inspired by the five America 250 themes, adding a fun and meaningful way to explore our nation's history together.

Did you know that the Downtown Library is a designated institution within the Federal Depository Library Program, established by Congress, to provide free public access to federal government information?
More than 1,100 libraries participate in this program and there are hundreds of resources available to you including a Senior Information Services Librarian and other staff members to answer questions.
