Donate HereFoundation History
The Boise Public Library Foundation, Inc. was formed in 1985 as a nonprofit corporation to benefit the Library. The Foundation's first major achievement was raising $850,000 through a direct donation drive used to convert the third floor of the Downtown Library building into public service space and to remodel the first and second floors. This remodel provided space for additional materials added to the Library's collection and expanded areas to offer better service to library users.
Other projects have included:
- Annual support for the Library’s Boise Comic Arts Fest (BCAF)
- Funds to develop technical innovations including virtual reality equipment, 3D printing, and youth robot kits
- Financing the installation of a computer network for public and staff access at the Downtown Library
- Extensive print materials for the inaugural collection of the Library at Bown Crossing
